Home Server (Old Laptop)

Hi there,

I am currently running my laptop as a small server as such it has samba and oracle xe hanging off it. For a OS I am using Ubuntu 9.04 and would like some help securing it as its on over night, could anyone point me at some helpful howtos ?

Is it exposed to the outside Internet? If not, i.e. if it were behind a NAT router, I wouldn't worry about it.

I am behind a 'NAT' router that is hidden
