Hey Everyone, Since getting a laptop for Christmas my desktop PC has been completely unused. As such I've been thinking of converting it to a server so as to handle 3 different jobs.

1)Storage of all family documents: ATM I have the PC set to home group and can access files at home. Is there anyway to set Windows 7 to allow outside access to the network?

2)Central Email and calender: Since moving to android all my emails are handled by different apps. Can anyone recommend a program that would act as a central mail box and then be forwarded onto my phone or would I have to set up a proper mail server?

3) Handle Print Jobs: We have only one printer at home which is currently connected to my main PC. When something needs printed from a laptop it usually means disconnecting the printer or transferring everything via memory stick then printing.

Is windows 7 capable of handling these jobs or would I be better installing windows server (can get a copy for free)? One thing I was possibly planning in the future was installing a tv tuner card which would be fairly easy using windows 7. Any recommendations or advice is very welcome since my knowledge and experience with networking and server software is limited to connecting to a home hub.

If it helps:
processor: athlon x2 6000+
memory: 4gb ram
HDD: 250gb + 2TB (waiting on priced to drop before adding more)
GPU: gtx260 (will be removed after tho currently folding on)
mobo: ASUS M3A78 pro

Thanks in advance for your help!
