I'd want a properly retrimmed wheel or a new one, that will always feel slightly odd under your hands, as the leather will squirm slightly as its not held on tight enough.

I guess it'll give you a solution that'll improve it slightly - I'd personally only do it if you plan to get a proper retrim or new wheel in the future though.

A professional retrim will be about £100

Knowing it was a cover would drive me nuts. I'd have to buy a new one, get mine retrimmed or look for a better condition used one.

looks awful,

I'd much rather spend the extra and have a professional retrim my wheel

or hunt ebay and the 5 forums for a decent one

Contact Royal Steering Wheels. He will restitch your wheel to something awesome.

Everything else may as well be forgotten like a ginger child.

Bin it and get a nice Nardi.

I really like the Momo it comes with, and the Nardi wheels look a bit garish to me, but not seen many in the flesh.

At the moment my wheel is past worn, the leather has turned rough, which is kind of cool for the grip+feel, but also a lot of black glue is starting to come off it!

I had the idea of getting a strip like that but in alcantara (or similar) add to the race car feel, I think the spokes on my momo are just a bit too big for that home made stitched style to work.

But I'm tempted to try it just as a mini project, they're cheap, and every man should be able to sew!
