Hi guys and gals.
I'm looking to set up myself a basic home studio. Gonna re-format my PC, install something like a light Cubase/Cakewalk and get a good Audio interface to record via.
I've got a dual core AMD Athlon 3600+ (2GHz), 3GB RAM.
I'm not too sure of the best software to go with but I was thnking of getting and Edirol UA25EX as my sound card. I play guitar so will record that through it and utilize various amp modelings in the software.
I'll only be recording one instrument at a time.
The software will have to have good MIDI compatibility to go with the Edirol as I'll also want to be able to hook up a MIDI keyboard for various other sounds.
I think that's everything I have in mind. I'm new to this so if I'm missing anything glaringly obvious, let me know.
I've got £250-300 to spend on the audio interface, a new SATA drive (320GB) and software but I understand software may be more so i'm willing to wait to get it. Just need the best thing for the job, giving high quality sound without going overkill.
