Hi gents/ladies, I'm looking forward to getting some sort of Home Theater System (may take anything up to a year though). My quandary is that ideally I would want to use my PS3 as the centre of the HTPC system, but can't find anything suitable. Does anyone know any decent yet affordable 5.1/7.1 systems that work well with a PS3 and eventually a PS4, especially ones that would work well with the PS3 remote control. I wouldn't need any blu-ray/DVD player of course.

All ideas and even input into the general living room set-up is welcome guys

Room is about 5m long and about 4m wide. TV is in the middle of one of the 4m walls with the TB the other side of the room by the window, roughly 4.5m away. Budget I was thinking around £250, would that be sufficient?

Do yourself a huge favour and steer well clear of those disc player-based all-in-one kits. Stick with the Pioneer or similar; an AV receiver with speaker package. Better quality, superior sound, and upgradeable/interchangeable should you want to/need to buy replacement bits. Altogether a wiser choice.

AS said above the all in one systems are not the best and you get far more for your money buying a dedicated av amp.

The sony you linked to is £129 @ richer sounds then for speakers you will be looking at between £120 - £200 to get you started with lower end ones

Defo. It'll last as well, a lot more than buying a whole new system when you realise you want more. You can even start with AV receiver and 2 speakers, then add to it as you go.

Sorry I posted when I was half asleep. I thought he wanted the whole set up for £250 LOL didn't realise he only needed the av n stuff :P my bad.
