I cannot install homefront.

I have W7 64bit, When I try to install Homefront it starts installing C++ 2005 Redistributable and then fails claiming:

"Failed to Run Install Script"

I have UAC disabled, I have installed the C++ from microsoft, yet it still fails time and again.

Any suggestions?

It's on the disk as a stand alone, try running it outside of the install. A reg fix was to run Windows update as well then re run the install program.

tried installing in admin mode?

how did you buy it?

might help depending on how you got it.

Yeah tried that, same problem. It is the retail DVD.

I tried the update as well, How do I run it outside the install?

It is not available on Steam for some reason otherwise I would download it and install it that way.

If you go to "games" in steam, at the top, choose "activate a product on steam"

Then just enter the games serial key, et voilot now you can download the game.

This only works with steamworks games btw (games that install off steam when you put the disc in).

Explore the dvd, its in there as and exe in one of the folders, think its called /dist

Kk, hope that works :)

It's actually an excellent game that's getting real dev love. I honestly don't understand the negativity towards it tbh. Hit reg is spot on, public released ranked servers, runs well, several game modes and more coming. I Don't get it, really don't.
