Homefront

This game really wasn't on my radar until I read some hands on previews in various magazines. I thought, it'll be another FPS just like CoD. However, a lot of games journalists are saying that the game and the way it is played feels a lot more like Half Life 2 than it does Call of Duty and that's what caught my attention.

Needless to say, once I heard of that comparison my interest in Homefront shot up and I can't wait for it to be released. What are your thoughts on this game?

Yeah you play as a resistance fighter, a little like in Freedom Fighters (amazing game that) and it'll be interesting to play from the viewpoint of a civilian in an occupied nation instead of as another soldier.

This game looks so...I don't even know how to describe it. Gritty? Dark? An atmosphere of hopelessness?

OPM Italy has given Homefront 9/10. This coupled with the news that Homefront is THQ's highest pre ordered game ever spells some good news for the developers.

Homefront is only 5 hours long.

PSM3 gave Homefront 9/10

Hmm, well that's dampened some of my excitement for the game.I will pick this up but not on release day and not at full price if the campaign is only 5 hours long.

Not bad for a new IP. Compare that to one of my favourite games, Enslaved:

Enslaved has only shifted 460,000 copies worldwide on both platforms since launch in October. Yeah, I'm advertising Enslaved. (buy it!)
