ok i have a home group it works fine.....who ever connects to the main router....i have a second router up in the attic as the main wireless will not reach...that works fine but it will not let me connect to the main homegroup network it wants to set its own up....how do i get around this thanks.

Put the second router into access point mode. The reason you can't see the other hunt group is because routers don't forward broadcasts and that is the mechanism homegroups use to advertise their existence.
