Homehub5 issue.

I've got a problem with my homehub5, it's the A type.

I'm not using it as a modem, I have a hg612 plugged into it. I have a single cable from one of the lan ports to a switch and connected to the switch is two pcs and a few consoles (all are in one area, so don't want to run multiple cables from the HH).

The issue is this. When the hh5 restarts, after coming back online, everything is slow, pinging somewhere will normally result in packetloss and even the homehub gui is slow and barely loads. Disconnecting and then reconnecting the cable between the switch and the hh5 instantly solves the issue. A full power cycle of the hh5 also solves it, but is far slower. Basic cable checker says cable is ok. While it doesn't do it after every restart, if it's going to do it, it'll be after one. It doesn't do it at any other time.

Any ideas or just the homehub being rubbish.

Thanks.

Have you tried turning off the switch and back on after this happens? Just in case it could be the switch at fault? How about connecting the long cable to the HG12 modem directly, and then replace the switch with the HH5 so everything connects to the HH5 directly?

Turning the switch on and off does fix it, but that's pretty much the same as just unplugging the cable.

I don't think it's the switch, as it's only communication through the hh that has the issue. When it does it, the two computers are still fine talking to each other, as that passes through the switch only. File transfers etc are still fine. It's only going through the hub that has the issue.

I also had the same setup before I had infinity. Instead of the hh5, I had a dg834gt, and never had the issue. Only with the hh does it happen.

It's just odd that it's always after a reboot, never any other time.
