Right So I think one of my HomePlugs has died when turned on none of the lights or anything come on. So the question I ask is can you mix and match HomePlugs or do they need to be the same brand etc. I bought this set about 2 years ago and they have worked fine so I have not had the need to look into this sort of thing since then. The other plug is still lighting up fine so i Guess it is still working and that I would just need to replace the one.

In theory you can mix and match, but there's no guarantee every combination will work.

As I can currently see a OcUK banner advert for a pair of 200Mbps adapters for £34.98 it's probably not worth worrying about.

There are 2/3 standards in use by the various homeplug devices on the market. Plugs using the same variety should work ok together, but plugs with different transmission methods won't make any connection at all.
