hi

my PC is going upstairs im my room and i dont get a strong enough signal from my WiFi card, so the internet wont connect.

ive heard home plugs are good but nobody mentions what kinda speeds ill be expecting in comparison o normal.

on an ethernet connection i get 500kb/s on average

you mean you get 500kbps download from the net?
A homeplug will give you whatever speed ones you get, e.g. 300mbps, 200mbps or 100mbps.

You will lose a bit to signal degredation if they are far apart or you have fail wiring but it will deffo be faster than anything your net is going to give you, and maybe faster than 100mbps ethernet.

Other option is to get a long flat network cable and just run it under the carpet or something?

so if i get them i should still see speeds of nearly 500kbs

i could do a cable but im just trying to see if these will be just as good or near enough.

my internet speeds are no where near 85mb/s so i doubt it will increase my speeds

they are better than any wireless except maybe 300mbps wireless n tbh. so you won;t see a drop in speeds. Its pretty hard to get any wired network connection that will be slower than your net unless you have 50mbps net etc.

Just get a pair and try them out, it will be fine, and if your not happy with them just return them?

Yes you'll see speeds of around 500kb/s.
