Homeplug / Powerline adapter issue

I have a fairly old 85Mb Devolo pair and a newer Edimax 200Mb pair.

Only the 200Mb kit can actually carry the 30Mb connection I've got, the 85Mb kit caps out at about 15Mb download.

However the 200Mb Edimax is utterly horrible. Takes a while to connect, incredibly fragile connection and the slightest interference on the power system cripples it, TV, washing machine... just cuts the connection and they cant see each other.

And then there's the 85Mb Devolo which connects very quickly and nothing seems to disrupts its signal.

Thing is it's not able to fully carry the internet connection I have.

Currently using it because 15mb reliably is vastly better than 30Mb with much dropping of connection.

Any ideas or advice?

There is no option to use a network cable.

Half thinking I should go back to the devolo brand but a faster kit in the hope that whatever they had in the 85mb kit is still there in the faster kits.

'Better' adapters might help. There must be some scope for the manufacturers to vary the quality of the supporting electronics in their adapters even if they are based on the same underlying chipsets.

Unfortunately Powerline (and wireless) is basically guess work until you actually try it in the actual enveronment. I'd get a set from somewhere with a good returns policy and try them. I'd probably take the opportunity to upgrade to AV500 at the same time.

I'm using TP Link AV200 versions and they have performed well in my 'very' old house where the wiring is not exactly brilliant.
AV500 versions not much more expensive.
