I bought a home plug for a 2 PCs to access the interset from a router. It was all workign well until we connect one to the xbox360.

No all that happens is that the remote end PC just hangs or runs so slowly.

I'm not sure what's going on. IPCONFIG shows as normal.

Any ideas?

The xbox is no longer connected.. but it's only started happening since we connected first time a few weeks back. It seems to load the first page then stops. The internet icon shows that the network and internet is on.

I'm puzzled.

I have the a router with which has one ethernet connection to the main PC which is fine, and another ethernet connection to a home plug. Both use standard patch cables.

At the other end of the home plug is another PC in my workshop

There are no other Devices.

However, a few weeks ago my son and I decided to use the homeplug from the workshop for his Xbox360 which worked fine but since I've diconnected that and reinstated the homeplug back to the workshop the network service is poor. It's just not Internet either, transferring files has the same problem.

I can see the folders but as soon as I click on the folder it hangs. On the net, it loads the first page, then hangs thereafter. The network icon shows no problems yet there appears to be some sort of contention?

I'm clueless?

Yes I do have a surge protector so will try that, although it did once work. The software the came with the homeplugs isn't picking up the device yet the client PC is seeing a connection, just not a very good one. Then it drops. I'm going to try it without the surge protector
