Homeplug Setup

Hello,

I have two sets of Homeplugs running with the house - one set is Devolo 200 set and the other is one of the basic ****** Value ones. At the moment I have them set and connected in their pairs although we do seem to have issues with this sometimes.

When looking online I noticed a lot of websites say that you only actually need one homeplug connected to the router, not the two that I currently have connected. I was under the impression that the pairs had to be connected together.

Do I need to put a HomePlug into the router for each of my computers?
No only one HomePlug is needed at the router end.

No, one in and as many out. They don't need to be in pairs.

You can effectively have your router and 3 devices connected.

Ah cool thanks.

Would it matter that they are different brands? Do you know if connecting them in pairs would may have been causing problems?

Yes, only need one homeplug at the router.

I have 3 homeplugs total.
1 connected to my sky hd box downstairs
1 Wireless homeplug (different brand) upstairs connected to Xbox 360, PS3 and sometimes 2 laptops and mobile phones at the same time
1 at the router.
