Hi guys,
I've been looking at these homeplug devices as my girlfriend uses wireless in the house for her laptop, however i'm constantly getting nagged at that the signal either completely drops and the router drops off the face of the planet, or that the speed is dire (and it really is ) so i've put this down to either her wireless nic, or the router signal being blocked by the buildings walls as i've discovered it seems they're plated with metal :S

Anyway i was wondering
A) Are homeplugs any good, does anyone actually use them and are they an improvement on wireless?
B) Are they able to cross rings, i sense this would need to be the case as the router is upstairs, however her usual haunt is downstairs... i sense there will be atleast 2 rings there, guess there would be problems?

Thanks guys,

It should woprk, I do the same to cover a dead wifi spot in my house.
Wifi router upstairs connected to a homeplug device. A second homeplug with wifi AP is downstairs. In some parts of the house there are two wifi networks available.
