Homeplugs not working after moving router

So I decided to move the wireless router to a more central area of the house for better signal strength. I basically extended the CAT5 cable long enough so the router could be relocated but I seem to have created a weird problem.

The problem is, my homeplugs are no longer working, in a sense that the router doesn't seem to be giving IP addresses to any devices which connect to the homeplugs.

DHCP is turned on with the router and I have also tried to manually assign IP's to devices connected but it still doesn't work.

I'm not sure why it would suddenly start doing this as all i did was run a longer CAT5 cable from the virgin media super hub(modem mode) to the router.

Does anyone have any ideas at all?

The router is a Dlink DIR615 by the way.

Presumably you must have relocated one of the Homeplugs so that could still be connected to the router? Has it ended up on a different mains circuit?

What does the manufacturer’s Homeplug configuration utility show (assuming it has one)

Are you 100% sure the new Ethernet cable is fully functional?

Could be crossed over and the homeplugs not supporting auto-MDIX or has a pair not punched down?

The manufacturers homeplug utility (netgear) allows me to see the other homeplugs fine. The new ethernet cable is fine as wired devices can access the net.

Also I've started having weird problems now, the router is not assigning wired devices IP addresses and they end up with weird 169.254.x.x ip's. DHCP is turned on and I've even tried flashing dd-wrt but having the same problem!

Windows will automatically configure itself with an IP address and subnet mask when a DHCP server isn't available. The IP address range is 169.254.0.1 through 169.254.255.254, a range that has been reserved especially for Microsoft.
