Homeplugs & strange home wiring

Greeintgs folks.

Ok got a strange one for you all to get your teeth in to,
I just ordered my new system and was going to get wireless but want to try some thing else.

I know Homeplugs can do the track but the issue i have is that my house use to be rented as flats,
Each room has its on fuses for lights and power sockets and then from this there is a main fuse box in the hall way thaat has flat 1,2,3,4,5 kitchen & dinning room lights / sockets.
Would i still be able to use Homeplugs to go from one room to another ?

Other than that i am stuck with and usb wireless stick.

If everything is connected behind a single meter you should be okay.

wow 5 sets of fuses that's doubly, trebly safe then! As said above I believe it still should work but you may get reduced performance...

Yeah i guess so but its also a right pain in the A**E lol

Might not have the money for the Homeplugs for a few weeks but will feed back.

Anytime someone mentions complex/non-standard wiring with Homeplugs, I recommend borrowing some to test - or at least buying them from someplace with a good no-quibble refund policy.

95% of the time they work like a charm and I love them to bits.

Greetings folks,

Went ahead and got a pair on homeplugs nothing major just cheap and nasty to test it first.
What a nightmare i had but turns out that one of the homeplugs was faulty the computer would not even pick the device up.
Checked with other cables and so on but nothing.

Went and changed it for another pair and stright out of the box working great.
Getting about 15Mb thoughput and ping times of 80Ms so about the same as wireless.

So now that i know it works i will get a better set soon.

excellent mate...glad u sorted. I believe that the actual quality of the wiring is more important than the way it's wired...

What about pinging your router?
