Hi guys I was wondering if anyone could spec me some decent homeplugs
500mb at least!

I currently have the netgear V500 with the extension plug on it.

Single port is fine.

thanks

Just want to be able to access upstairs pc via ethernet.. I have the netgear 500v with a plug extension on it. But never use it. I want the best on the market really.

You will never get 600mbps all the time. As it depends on distance between the plugs and the state of your internal wiring.

I have not used these myself but they should give you over 200mbps consistently and depending on your internet speed it will be greater than that so you should not see any issues.

Yeah I can't say I ever use them for permanent networking but they're good in a pinch.

I've got a drill and some thin walls so why not run some cable! DIY!

Is that actual tested speed? With a file transfer?

My personal experiences with homeplugs have really put me off them.

Cheaper to just run a cable

It wouldn't be cheaper! It's a brand new house so no issues with the wiring.. running cable looks untidy. If I was to go through the wall ect it would be a lot of hassle. As it's a eco house so loads of insulation everywhere! And it would also mean pulling up carpet to get onto the floor ect... master socket downstairs and pc in office same side.of house but in far corner. Just want ome decent powerslines that would get me a decent speed to my NAS and for my net connection. Currently 50mb sky fiber. With a Asus rt-ac68u router.

I use those Devolos and get around 200Mbps from rooms not too far apart, drops if I use them upstairs but does the job I need them to.

It would be a hell of a lot cheaper.

Some cheap self adhesive trunking from a certain trade kind of outlet only costs about £2-3 for 2 metres and you could run a really tidy cable over with that. You can barely see the trunking I have running around my front room.

Granted insulation may be inbetween your walls but it's not the end of the world putting a 7mm hole through a wall.
