Right before you all go and tell me to do it myself, this is homework for my 9yr old brother, I've been checking over it for him but we're both stumped on this question, if this turns out to be really easy I'm going to kick myself. :D

Anyway here goes:

Give the value of the digits below that are underlined:

a. 61.32 =
b. 64.33 =
c. 176.4 =
d. 1126.489 =
e. 909.24 =

Now I'm not following at all what this question is asking, hopefully some of you boffins can help me out. ;)

e. 909.24 = 0.2

I'm just guessing here! Might be wrong

Does it not mean '3 tenths' and '3 hundreths' or something along those lines? That is how i understood it

Like what i said, but as fractions not decimals?

No, i was thinking like actually stating it in words...that is the value of it...it is Three Tenths... I don't know, that is just what i thought when i saw it...like a distant hazy memory from being asked to do similar things...

Meh, it's all the same! 3/10 = 0.3 I don't think it makes a difference :)

Hi there,

I believe that before the decimal point it is thousands, hundreds, tenths and units

after the decimal point it is thousanths, hundreths etc..

I've just put myself on a beginning with mathmatics course with the open uni

after that its english language - spelling and all that

lofz
