Tactical, beautiful, and wholly unique, the GOTY-winning sci-fi RTS returns with Homeworld 3. Assume control and battle through fleet combat in dazzling, fully 3D space while the award-winning story unfolds on a galactic scale.

Strategic freedom is yours. Hulking space derelicts called megaliths bring 3D terrain into the classic Homeworld battlespace. Use the crumbling remains of an ancient civilization to funnel foes into a brilliant ambush or hide your fleet from powerful enemies. Fortresses teem with menacing turrets and invite your strike craft into dangerous trench runs deep behind enemy lines. But not everything is in your control. Dangerous space phenomena like particle storms and asteroid fields will test even senior commanders.

Attack head-on, with a clever flank, or even from above and below your foes. Homeworld 3’s fully simulated ballistics make line of sight and cover critical strategic considerations. Your fleet persists from mission to mission. Scars on your ships linger. Strike craft pilots and capital ship captains pass along critical information through battlefield chatter.

Homeworld’s timeless art style evolves with modern technology, offering an incredible sense of scale, destruction, and wonder. Strike craft fly in formation between hulking Battlecruisers against a backdrop of stars and nebulae. Iconic ships cast silhouettes over the remains of ancient civilizations. Explosions ripple and erupt across hulls as one fleet stakes its victory over another.

Homeworld’s game-of-the-year winning story continues. Since the end of Homeworld 2, the galaxy enjoyed an age of abundance thanks to the Hyperspace Gate Network. Cycles of plenty and war have come and gone. Now the gates themselves are catastrophically failing and Karan, who has passed into myth and religious idolatry, is the key to the mystery threatening a galaxy’s future.

An all-new, co-op capable multiplayer mode extends your game beyond the campaign. Fusing Homeworld’s RTS gameplay with roguelike structure, one or two commanders take on a randomized series of fleet combat challenges. Manage your fleet strength across each battle and claim powerful rewards with each victory. Based on your results, you’ll unlock incredible powers that carry over run after run.

Your ultimate test of tactical skill comes in battle against human opponents. Sharpen your instincts in AI skirmish matches, before squaring off with human opponents in 1v1, free-for-all, or team battles.

f keys iirc used to change formations in the older games might be the same in the new one at least using classic controls which has the option iirc.

double the zoom rate and the cam pan speeds, makes it feel more like the old games that way from when i was messing about with it for a little bit before bed last night after it finally dled. Im a bit irked by you cant click on units untill ur near em with the cam when the health bar is visible and even then the bar isnt to scale sometimes or above the ship, i.e ms in the tutorial. middle click after selection still locks focus on selected units tho and then can zoom in etc and pan to enjoy the view still.

Probably, tho with the feedback of the demo there having to rework a lot due to the negative feedback mainly the camera controls and few other things, so there in crunch mode now for a few months now to try to fix it to play more like a hw game instead of their ideas of what hw3 should be, lets hope they succeed.

Got my fig key in a email today and successfully activated on steam ok. :)

Think its a hour or so till early access for the next 3 days, starts soon.

The game so far albiet not played a lot, its very pretty looking. legacy controls mostly work tho zoom is a bit quick pushing the mouse for or back to do it instead of scroll wheel as thats how i used to do it in old games. Hud isnt too bad, better than demo before at least, scales better. Theres more colored cutscenes which drag on a bit compared to past games. Research is now in the build menu for some reason at least for upgrades for things. No pause for after missions to gather rus or think about fleet for next mission bit like hw2 but worse.

u can max it pretty much even rt just the most fps gained is if you drop visual effects quality to low, doesnt look diff to me but huge fps boost if u try it in the benchmark.

Those that have played it, did you enjoy? Worth £4.37 an hour? Is the season pass thing worth getting or can I just get the base game?
only played 2 hrs as waiting till its it patched up to play it more. Im in no rush tho. But atm dont feel like playing when theres a game stopping bug which takes all control away from you and u have to alt n f4 cos all you can do is press esc and cant even pick quit game. Happened on 3rd mission.

So 35 quid for 2 hrs hmm.

During a cutscene i think it just sorta went into the terrain the camera and then i couldnt use mouse, or keys, except esc worked but all that did was bring up some text in the top left saying cinematic and thats all. I couldnt pan the camera, rotate it, use hotkeys to put the camera on ships in group one for example or anything, so had to alt and f4 to shut down, was mission 3 i think.
