Homeworld, a space strategy game that is almost perfect, was just the first of three releases in the series around the turn of the millennium. The first two games have been remastered and re-released for a while now, but the third and I think best—Homeworld: Cataclysm—has long been assumed lost. Until now.

Playing through Homeworld again after all these years is weird.

Gearbox and GOG today announced a surprise re-release, with the catch that it now has a new name (Homeworld: Emergence) to avoid legal troubles with Blizzard, who thanks to World of WarCraft have claim to the term “Cataclysm”.

gog only though.

As for the change of name, this kind of thing is as silly as Gene Simmons trying to trademark the horns symbol made with hands

Ridiculous isn't it!
Just like the Candy crush saga copyrighting the word Candy.
Also like when they tried to stop Banner Saga from using the word "Saga".

Another idiotic one was the game Diesel Stormers, a game from the marvellous chaps at Black Forest Games (Giana sisters makers) were threatened with action from Diesel clothing to stop using the word Diesel. They had to swap the name to Rogue Stormers.

I mean, wtf! It was a fuel long before it was a clothing range & it's not exactly like you'd go out & buy some jeans, get them back home & go "Oh pants, I bought a game by mistake..."

Haven't played Cataclysm, but seen loads saying it's the best of the Homeworld series.
Completely agree re:music though, the music for the series is really good.
Was even sat listening to the music from Deserts of Kharak earlier today whilst playing something else
