It will sound different when not on a dyno and has a transmission attached etc.

having listened to some of the dyno runs of the older engines it wont sound much different

The first run through does sound very hoover-ish.

The current V8 racket has never done much for me though, I dare say we will get used to it.

Sounds a bit better than the other one we heard a while back (Mercedes?), at least. Have to say though, I still miss the V10s and it bugs me when they use those sounds as part of the coverage on Sky.
