So some nice bloke or women decided to attempt to drive over my bike whilst it was parked outside my house :( , from what i can see personally is that both fairings under the bars are broke , forks bent , front mudguard , bar bent , indicator snapped and chrome on exhaust is scuffed and maybe front alloy is damaged. Having a look on google for proper parts to replace these come in at £900 am going through my own insurance to claim on this just wondering if they would write a 2 year old bike off with 8k miles for the above damage?

would be fun to ride :p

Yes they would, you haven't factored in labour which will like as not nail the coffin lid shut in the eyes of the insurance company.

I honestly don't get some people. How are they brought up to think it's ok to destroy someone else's property?

Gutted for you >.< And you can't even say you damaged your bike in a spectacular crash :(

Well if a repair is cheaper than the cost of paying out for a new/replacement bike then they'll repair, surely?

Also depends if you want to deal with all the insurance formalities, but then again there isn't any blame game/case so it should be quite straight forward. Also bear in mind you would lose your no claims.

I'd be tempted to get it repaired as cheap as possible in this case.

Thing with insurance companys is they will price it up with New Genuine parts & main dealer hourly rates so that will be well written off if you ask me.
We may be able to bodge it back together with 2nd hand parts with no labour costs but they can't.

That's true, and with labour on top. My insurance's repair company is charging the third party insurance company £400+ for my new rad .

Been wrote off , they are wanting to collect it tomorrow but not had a offer on a payout for bike. Just wondering if this is normall or should i tell them no untill i have my offer through?

They have allready been out and done a inspection of the bike and said its a write off, spoke to them again this morning and said they would arrange collection after ive sent them the paperwork they requested

I told the insurance company my bike wasn't moving from my back yard, No way was I letting it get chucked in the back of a van & left uncovered in some pen somewhere.
I told them I want to buy the bike back so send an Assessor out & lets have a deal. They sent there man out then they rang me 2 days later with an offer.
I accepted the offer then bought my bike back for 30 quid & sold it on Ebay for 350 quids. :D

Bike payment + Compo + Bike Sale = Win. :p
