yeah mate, i guessed as much, but are they like rocket ships and indestrucible or what?

Is he in Australia aswell?

If so, Welcome to Australian Japanese and European car prices. Hooray For tariffs! :(

Had a mk1 crx a while back, was a good car, got it quite cheap from an auction. They pretty much are indestructible, and they're damn good cars if modified properly. The later, electric hard top kind of CRX's always held their value, for the same reason, honda indestructibility, good cars, high style, high original purchase price, and very low supply.

nah, in just outside Bristol, where i used to live !!!

car prices in Australia are horrendous ....

Brilliant cars, everyone should drive one just once to see how much fun they are.

Something very raw about them, but they put a big smile on your face, and thats just the ordinary 1.6 130bhp model, the VTEC model is meant to be better still

very nice cars but a lot are rusted to hell now, and the ones in good nick go for silly money.

has he thought about an eg civic? they come with the b16 and they are easer to find.

Great to drive and indestructable motors. You're right though, they really are overpriced (IMO)

Hardly ancient are they?

The B16...My memory says it kicks out about 150bhp? Am I remembering things wrong again? :/

ancient, when you consider people who know nothing about the mechanics of a car, and cant fix it

:p

It's because there's 100 tatty, boy raced, rusted-to-hell ones to every relatively sound car.

They rust and corrode horrendously (and that's coming from me!)

Was that just the japanese thing from that Era?

Most Japanese sports cars from the 80s and early 90s seem to rust quite easy

Reminds me of someone's sig:

"During the seventies I decided that if I heard the four minute warning...I would buy a Japanese car and watch it rust."

:D

About 14 years ago I had a Datsun Sunny in white, pretty much identical to this:

Except on mine every single panel had massive amounts of rust. The worst of which was along the top of the door where it meets the window. There was about a 2" gap between the door and the window, and I covered the jaggedy rusted edge with duct tape :D

Mechanically it was great though, ran like a dream and drove really nicely. I paid £50 for it, owned it for about a year then scrapped it.
