Honda CRX

Post a crap thread, get crap answers.

The CRX was made in various guises between 1983 and 1997, which one do you want to know about?

The vast majority of them are now totally rotten, expect to be paying for or doing lots of welding come MOT time.
The 16Vs are pretty slow, the VTECs not so slow.
Sunroofs rust profusely, and leak... there are replacement plastic/cf plugs availible when I was last looking.

5 years ago, I wouldn't have minded one and there seemed to be quite a few still about, these days I never really see them and there is much, much better for the same kind of cash/insurance groupings etc.

Excellent little cars albeit a bit long in the tooth now. Trying to find one rust free and in good nick will be difficult. Many have been scrapped.

They do however make great track cars being light weight, with brilliant handling, and of course the B16 VTEC engine.

However, due to the rarity of good nick ones and the fact they are popular track cars, this has pushed the prices up to stupid levels.

I think 200bhpcars was selling a good nick JDM one a while ago for £4000-5000, which whatever way you look at it, is silly money.

Look fantastic when kept in good nick.

Make sure to get a JDM SiR model (EF8), they come with an LSD, and won't be rotten if it's recently imported.

Thanks to all (appart from Lopez ;)) for the info. :)

Just looking at sporty Jap cars and this came up. By the sound of it its not a good option.

They are nippy little suckers.

I've always quite liked them. Good for some fun. No idea how you find a decent one, though.

"I" certainly won't be :p

Well yes, you will wait ages, and it still won't kick in. ;)

Just have to get map instead. ;)

But which CRX do you mean? The one Clarkey posted? The Del Sol... etc. etc. :/

Very strange thread this one.

Well sorry I was no help but neither are you. You still haven't told us which CRX you are considering?
