Honda Jazz Steering/Key ignition locked help?

Hey guys, basically I did something silly and when I parked my car and turned off engine. I turned the steering wheel and it ended becoming locked, and as I try to use the key to turn on ignition it won't let me twist the key in.

Any1 have solutions before I call the breakdown?

Turn the steering wheel the other way a bit. Sound normal from what you're saying.

Unfortunately it won't let me turn both ways on like 3-4cm each way :S then its just locked in.

Yeah just turn the wheel while turning the key, it's not broken at all.

That still sounds about right. Put the key in start turning for ignition and at the same time move the steering wheel. It should feel like you are relieving pressure off the ignition barrel.

This is a security feature, I do it on purpose every time I park in the street..

As you're putting the key in, turn the wheel.

Awesome thanks guy will try that now, its currently parked at car park that close at 6pm, as im at home 2 miles away so will try that now cheers. will deffo post back. haha don't go heavy on me paradigm I only started driving 4 months ago lol.

I did this outside acmes house full locked

if it's that stiff get someone to shake it whilst you turn the key.

Years ago my wife abandoned her car a few miles away due to the steering lock. Secret is to wiggle the steering at the same time as wiggling the key

I remember doing this on the parents car. I just gave the wheel a wiggle with the key and hey presto.
