Honeymoon destinations

What's questionable about the rest of the islands and the city?

We drove through downtown of the major built up areas and didnt fancy getting out of the car - it was very run down in a lot of places. There was a nice shopping centre centre just off the motorway though and the scenery up in the mountains was stunning!

I wouldn’t go back to it though - Maldives every day for me personally.

I may be wrong but maybe you didn't research the places of interest. The towns aren't all that for tourists other than the abundance of places to eat snd markets which have their own chaotic charm, but areas that seem run down aren't always so. You'd have to be rather lost to stumble upon properly run down places...it is a more laid back island with not a lot of construction regulations though so it does appear a mess. In Port Louis though, the waterfront, the market, the heritage places are great to visit.

Everywhere else along the coast, lots of be great scenery when driving, beaches to stop at, cliffs, especially the south west coast. In the mountains, there are gorges, trails, loads of waterfalls. There are nature and activity parks, lots of rum distilleries, plantations, estates, boat trips, watersports...quite a lot of visit and do.

I've never met anyone who's been and didn't come back wanting to go again.

No chance he's going to get there with a budget of £2-2.5k?!

OP - I'd just pop your duration and number of people going into TUI, adjust your budget and see what's available. Mexico will be good if you're after nice weather.
budget roughly of 2k/2.5k per person = 4k-5k

We've been looking to find a suitable honeymoon destination which isn't going to cost half of what our wedding cost last year. Some travel agency we looked through (window shopping) was asking for silly money and we have a budget roughly of 2k/2.5k per person maybe for 7-10 days all inclusive. For me I want to go to a resort where I can go to various resturants at a venue and choose anything off the menu (a la carte) style and not worry about prices. We're not big drinkers so food is more important at the moment.
She happy with whatever even if its a lazy kinda resort next to the poolside for a couple of hours in the day and maybe we can do our own exploring or go into a near by city.

We are looking to go before the Easter as her son will be in GCSE revision and exams and its been suggested Turkey is good value for what it is. I've kinda swayed towards Dubai at the moment as it seems to tick most of the boxes for us. Dubai is an international hub and can cater to multicultural tastes and going at that time of the year is warm but not scorching hot. Turkey on the other hand in Jan - March is 15 degrees max?
I dont want to go far east as a large percentage of cost is going towards the flights.

Anyone have been to any other countries or suggestions that fit my bill? We're not well travelled so something almost like a Airport to resort transport is ideal if possible. And yeah Adults only if possible please.

Thanks

Something to look forward to haha
