A friend has given me her Honor 9X which she dropped and the screen is now broken (it still lights up but it's just blotches and lines). The phone itself still works (can ring it, etc) but she needs to get certain files off it which are only on the device and not backed up to Google.
I've tried connecting it to a PC with HiSuite installed on it, but I need to be able to access the phone in order to set it up. I've also tried a USB-C HDMI connector (this one) to try and see the display on a TV/monitor so that I can go through the necessary steps to connect it to a PC, but nothing appears on any connected display.
Is there any other way that it might be possible to access the files that are on here without paying for a new screen to be installed?
