Basically I was wondering what is the best solution to connecting my PC to my TV to play games. It is around 2.5m from the back of the PC to the back of the TV. I have a 4890 so it has two DVI ports but my TV has a VGA port only. So what solution should I use to connect them together and can you link the components from this site please.

Surely if it only has a VGA port then it's a monitor not a TV ...

Doesn't it have any HDMI ports? If it does then a DVI->HDMI cable (or a DVI-HDMI converter plus a HDMI cable) may be the best bet.

Much of the same really, I prefer VGA > HDMI for a PC connection.

Yes it does have HDMI but I've never used it before. What difference would it be between DVI-HDMI or DVI-VGA?

Sorry I meant to post this in General Hardware.

HDMI on my TV allows 1080p resolution, dvi only allows 1280x768 Res, Ive tried this on 3 different TVs and always preferred HDMI. I'd go with that.

could be different on your TV though.

If you go DVI to HDMI i dont think you will get any sound from the TV. I have my TV upstairs connected via DVI to VGA and then a 3.5 audio jack for audio and it works fine. Maybe check out the manual for you Tv and check what connections if will take at least thats what I did.

That's okay I would use my speakers on the PC for sound anyway. I just don't know if there is any different in picture quality if I used the HDMI rather than VGA for games etc.
