hooking computer up to the tv

The tv i have is a matsui M22DVDB19 and my computer monitor is a samsung syncmaster p2450 and i'm clueless when it comes to technical stuff but is there a way i can hook up my pc to the tv and watch netflicks etc on my tv instead of my computer monitor?

I have a lead which has two blue ends on either side and it will connect from my monitor to the back of my tv, but i don't have anything that will connect from my tower to my tv.
 
I've connected the HDMI cable from my computer to my tv, the only thing that is appearing on the tv is my screen wallpaper, is there a certain way to send a page/browser to the tv?
 
Sounds like its in extended desktop mode, set it to cloned mode, or try dragging your browser Right/Left and see if it moves on to the TV.

Is it only the TV connected?
 
The TV is acting like a second monitor. All you need to do is drag a windows over [to the right most probably - you can check how its set up by right clicking the desktop and clicking screen resolution]

This means the displays are set to extend. If you drag a window off the far left or right of the screen you should see it appear on the TV.

If you are on windows 7, you will find the settings by right clicking on the desktop and selecting screen resolution.

You can arrange the screens (drag and drop) to chose which is left and right. Also you can set the screens to be cloned (show the same image) here too.
 
There are several options when dealing with a second monitor, as that's what your TV is seen as by your PC.

If the TV and monitor have the same resolution then you can choose to duplicate the output of your desktop to both screens.

You can choose to extend the desktop across both screens. This usually means the second monitor is virtually sitting to the left or right of your existing monitor and you should be able to move the mouse and any applications between screens. You should also be able to change the position of each display to each other, say at diagonals or on top of each other.

You can also make the second monitor your primary monitor so the icons appear on it.

Running two screens like this generally causes graphics cards to consume more energy and get hotter.
