Hi, will this type of cable allow me to hook up my 360 to my HiFi?
The two on the left going in the HiFi and the two on the right having the audio thingys from the 360 Cable?

Thanks

Just use an Optical Cable.

I have the Component cable going to my tv and an optical cable going to my amp.

job's a goddun

is it a standard 2 channel amp, what connections does it have.

Phate is right, the sound will be best via optical, and will give you 5.1 if you have a surround amp.

Failing that its and rca casble to connect to the amp.

Its just a HiFi, with 2 speakers, but will be better than the sound on my TV (I assume, I have a Samsung 32" R73 on order, and I heard the sound was bad) I cant afford a 5.1 system so thought this would be better than nothing,

So yes, its just a 2 socket thing, sorry for the vagueness, im bad with this kind of thing.

I was told I needed something like that in the picture? Do OCuK sell the cable I need?

Doesn't your existing lead have the red and the white phono? That's what goes into the amp, the leads you pictured are just for extending that connection.

Here is a pic, where the two things are plugged into the Video In bit, that cable has a single connection on the other end which goes in my iPod, will that cable work?

What lead are you using for the xbox? Red, white and yellow into a scart block? VGA?

Havent got it yet, but it will be using the composite one (assuming thats the one you use for HD?) Sorry for being a noob. Would VGA be better?

This is the other end of the cable I do have:

Yes, that's what I was trying to say above - you only need to buy that lead if the xbox is too far from the amp, cheapest place to get it will be on a buy it now from the auction site.

Red, green and blue (component) are what you need for an HD pic.

Thanks goatboy. I just re-read your post, not sure why it didn't make sense the first time, i am feeling pretty sleepy, ill put it down to that :p

Is the yellow one for digital audio then?
Also, what are those connections called, what do i search for on the auction site?

I've just gone from using the R73's speakers (or Logitech 5500's depending on mood) to a fairly decent stereo setup (sunk £400 into some KEF Q5's and £120 into a Cambridge A5) and it was worth every penny. I'll pad it out to surround sound at a later date, but I prefer the high fidelity to simple 5.1. You're on the right track!

Cool. I did hear they were bad as I said, My HiFi is pretty old, like 5-6 years Sony but I have always been impressed with the sound it gave off (I am not an audiophile though, so can't tell much difference in sound anyway) so thought it would be the best thing to do.

Would be well up for a 5.1 setup at some point though :)

Yellow is for composite video, poorest connection.

phono extension leads is what you want, male to female (most will be male to male), alternatively you can get phono couplers and then get a male to male lead.
