Quick question.

I'm thinking of purchasing one of these: http://www.dell.com/ed/business/p/dell-u2414h/pd

I have a number of adapters including Thunderbolt to HDMI. I've just tried it in my current monitor in my signature and it wasn't quite as crisp as I would have liked.

Is there a recommended method of getting the MBA display onto the monitor with maximum quality?

Cheers!

Bit of a bump, but noticed that you didn't get any replies: I use Thunderbolt to Full DisplayPort from my Macbook Air to my Dell Ultrasharp 3011 and everything looks as crisp as I get on my Windows rig.

I was worried about the HD5000 powering such a big display with so many pixels but it's holding up pretty well.

The latest versions of 10.9 and 10.10 allocate up to 1.5GB of shared system memory to VRAM, so I guess that helps :)

My Dell Ultrasharp U2414H has just arrived and I can't get it to work using the Thunderbolt (Mini DP) to DisplayPort. I'm currently having to use a Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter then a HDMI cable into the back of the monitor.

I've spent a good couple of hours looking round to figure out what's going on but can't seem to find any fixes.

Having read a bit about this, I think it's something to do with DP 1.2 and DP 1.1 versions. The colour looks fine at the moment but it would be much easier (and less clutter) to use DP.

Thought I would revive an old thread and offer an update.

It turns out I was plugging the Display Port into the DP (Out) port on the monitor... Highly embarrassing but at least it works now! :p It only took four weeks...
