Hi guys,

Just dusted out the old beast and now I apparently have 3 days to reactivate? Anyone care to explain? I only removed some dust ;)

Only have a pcie gfx card and a black gold tv card to be moved mate so I'm clueless :( Out with my restore hard drive to fix that though!

Hoovering your PC is one of the worst things you can do static and RAM don't mix well at all. :( Try some compressed air next time :)

Just select "activate by phone", ring 'em up and say you changed a DVD drive, (do you want to try and explain hoovering your PC to a bored Indian call centre worker? :p) read out the code on the screen, put in the one they give you and you'll be sorted.

at least after the latest furore Vista gives you 30 days to reactivate..

LMAO dust is now counted as a pc component :p

I agree, it's the most common componant you need to make your pc work. Microsoft has a new offer for Vista computers. You will get free dust to put in the bottom of your pc to activate windows :p

Only took the fans out to hoover the old girl didnt actually put the nozzle anywhere near any components - jeebus :D

they analyze the dust to make sure it belongs to you :D "This copy of Windows cannot be activated as the dust flakes located in this computer are not valid" Classic

maybe you sucked out a few components :p

just activate and forget about it, and hope that the pc doesn't start playing up!

More likely they've analysed the DNA and decided it's dead skin from someone else ;)
