I'm trying to RDP into a machine I use as a Plex server from outside my network.

It's win10 pro, I have a static IP from my ISP, RDP works fine inside my network and given the static IP Plex is also working fine remotely.

But for some reason when I try and use RDP from my android phone it connects fine on the local network but not when I move to 4G.

I get error 0x204, I've forwarded port 3389, checked the firewall (and tried turning it off to be sure) etc

Any ideas?

Don't open RDP to the internet, deploy a VPN service.
100% this. Wireguard is so easy to set up now it's silly not to, then you're on the inside of your network and won't have to worry about port forwards (with the exception of setting up the VPN if your router can't do it).

Is this stupidly risky? Yes I use TeamViewer normally, I just find RDP much nicer via a tablet.

Always the risk that TeamViewer stops etc I was thinking but if it's dangerous I won't bother.
