Hi everyone,

Just thought i'd introduce myself... my names Tony from Farnborough, Hants. I've always had a love for IT as well as gaming and i'm currently looking to get into IT support (if anyone knows anyone looking for a trainee/junior, please let me know!). Whilst i'm waiting to start my career, I thought it'd be nice to both assist others in any IT problems they were having, as well as learning from others and the occasional geeky discussion.

Anyway, hope to see you all in the forums!

Thanks for the warm welcome folks. I am starting to hear something back from my applications so i'll let u know if I'm successful with anything.

Dont get a degree, they're not worth the paper they're written on :p

Get some experience and relevant qualifications.

From what I can see most degrees are ~5-10 years out of date by the time you've done them.

Oh, and hi :o

I actually agree... who has the time and money to get a degree, unless your 18 and have financial support from your rents?

I'm just gonna try and find an entry-level role and work my way up... cant be worse than my current job!

Some good news! I have somehow managed to blag my way into a trainee IT Support role, and only a coupleof miles from my house! Good times...

The pay starting is £17000, to be reviewed after a few months... it's a small family-run company, though they still have a fair share of the relevant market.
