Hopelessly confused now...What TV ?

It's a smaller living room so was looking at something like the Sony KD49X8305CBU in 4k.

Should I be looking at something else ? Is 4k the way to go ? I have heard that 1080p looks worse on a 4k set ?

Budget isn't fixed as I expect to have the TV a long time.

That Sony does an excellent job at upscaling, and 1080p looks better rather than worse from what ive seen. I bought the same one a while ago.
