Hello everyone.
I know that sleeve bearings are a no go when it comes to horizontal mounting. I managed to push 2 NZXT FN 200mm ways beyond their lifespan by constantly oiling them despite being horizontal.
They finally died and I decided to stay clear of sleeve bearings with their hassle. I also had to consider installation as I'm using a NZXT Full Phantom Tower limiting my choices. This case only mounts NZXT FN 200mm unless you custom fit.
So Phanteks ph f200sp fans fit both of my requirements and push some air.
I bought 2 from Overclockers but am slightly concerned. The horizontally exhaust mounted Phanteks is clicking & vibrating slightly very much like a sleeve bearing. The description for the bearing is UFB what I believe is a glorified Rifle bearing.
Does anyone have any experience with these fans and their usage mounted horizontally? Are they in fact a self lubricating rifle bearing being suited for horizontal exhaust mounting.
Thank you
Jason
