Horizontal flickering lines when playing Blu-rays

Hi guys I built a new PC in november with a Samsung blu ray drive, it has worked great burning DVD's etc. However after getting some new bluray movies this Christmas I tried playing them and was met with sporadic horizontal lines which are whitish/greyish in appearance.

When I tried playing disks using powerdvd this flickering could take up half the screen, however with Total Media Theatre the flickering is just a line that can appear anywhere on the screen and flash for a milisecond, which is quite distracting!

Just wondering if anyone has had any similar occurrences of this, I do have a 120hz monitor but not sure if this would affect it. I have updated the firmware of the drive as well.

Any ideas?

wow, thats a new one on me. all i can advise is the usual ask samsung's customer support, or the customer service section of this forum

Yeah guess I will have to, seems to be happening now on DVD's so it might just be a bad drive, but I am just worried it might be interfering with the 120hz monitor.

Edit: I seem to have resolved it after testing in an older PC, it was either a loose cable or hardware acceleration being turned off and not restarting the media player. Not sure which but problem resolved hopefully for good!
