Sorry if ive posted this in the wrong place but this only started happening since Steam updated to their new UI and was just wondering whether anyone else was experiencing similar problems?

It doesn't happen all the time but ive tried playing GTA Episodes from Liberty City and my screen is going mental. Horizontal lines keep flashing up all over the place, then the screen rolls over itself.

Does this sound like a steam / graphics card problem?

The 4870x2 is pretty new as my original died and was replaced. I never overclock it but i do manually set the fan when i play games as it can get rather hot. I have the 10.4 drivers

One other thing, i cannot capture the problem via screenshots or video

Cheers

i'm getting that in gta4 also.

i think it's more to do with the game itself rather than a driver thing. if i lower the anisotropic filtering to 4x it's a lot better, but i'm getting loads of random texture glitches as well (a window will suddenly turn into a big grey square, for example)

i blame rstar tbh :)

I get it in every steam game, i disabled the Cat AI earlier which seems to have helped a little.

I think its an overlay bug or something, i never got it with the old steam UI

for me gta4 hasn't been effected by the steam update, it did it before, so it's either an ATI issue or a code issue, and tbh i think it's more of a rockstar thing that ati

I had all sorts of **** like this with an 5850, once that was removed, the problem went away.
