Hey I have a Samsung B2230N 1920 x 1080 monitor. It only has a VGA connection (I know your all thinking eww VGA why!?), but basically I have had it for a while and I got for free.
The colours and everything seem great and generally picture quality is good when all I'm doing is browsing or watching videos.
Any ways after updating my video card which only has DVI outputs I have to use a VGA to DVI adapter that came with the card.
The problem is in games I seem to get these weird faint horizontal lines moving up the screen.
Using vertical sync seems to help on some games more than others, on some games it will get rid of it completely and others it could still be very noticeable.
So it seems to be the monitor and the graphics card being on out of sync frames or something.
I've tried another adapter and a cable that goes from DVI to VGA but I get similar results.
Also I'm confident its to do with the monitor/cable because if I take screenshots or use Fraps the lines aren't there, the temperatures are fine for CPU and GPU and I've tried my brothers DVI monitor with a DVI cable and it worked perfectly (was very tempted to try and swap our monitors
)
So yeah is this monitor screwed? Am I gonna have to get a better monitor with DVI/HDMI connectors?
I read somewhere to try DVI-A > DSUB but I have no idea what that means and I wouldn't know where to get a cable for it.
