Horizontal navigation menu

Hey guys,

I am currently creating a website for university. While doing this I have come across the problem of borders and the browser zoom functions. The borders do not resize so if I use these in my horizontal navigation bar as seperators, the buttons will move out of line when you zoom out of the page.

Has anybody else had this problem?

Does anybody have any idea why this moves out of place when the browser zooms out? Is this just a bug?
