I've been offered a very good deal on a Hornet. It's been kept inside off the road for a year now (hasn't been started), so I'll need to give it a service and check it over before starting it. I can't work on it where it is unfortunately else I'd just ride it back!

Would something like a Vauxhall Vivaro short wheelbase do the trick to get the bike back home? Or would I be safer getting something bigger i.e. a Renault Master long wheelbase type van?

Thanks.

Thanks :)

Will ask when booking the van if they have a ramp. Need to make sure I have enough straps as well!

Can't wait to get on it! Two weeks to wait though.

My top tip for bike transporting in a Van is to not try & secure the bike in the middle with the centre stand down but take a couple of cushions/Blankets & put them between the side of the van & the bike then secure the bike using straps to the side of the van, Much easier this way & much more stable.

Also post pics of the Hornet as I have a liking for them. :)

Thanks for the tip, will gather up some padding and take it with. It does sound much easier strapping it to the side rather than trying to balance it in the middle & stop it from sliding etc.

Glad to see you paid what in my opinion was the right price . Good luck with it as there great bikes.. My fav naked 600 and is only beaten by the 675 trumpet

Very pleased with the price (thanks for your comments in the other thread by the way) :). I've been asking some shops about how much they can buy by CBF 125 for and they reckon £1200. Should be able to get £1500 if I go privately, so I'm not out of pocket at all & have a nice big bike! :D

It's back safe & sound in the garage! :D. It was surprisingly easy to get it into the van (scaffolding plank, and there were 3 of us + some nice neighbours came & gave a push) and make it secure. All went smooth - no damage.

A bit of work to get it on the road. I'm getting a new battery tomorrow and some coolant. Hopefully it'll start - then I'll be doing oil, filters, etc.

Can't wait to get it on the road!!
