Hey guys,
I already asked this once in the video cards forum, but nobody could seem to figure out what was going wrong. I've since determined that this is a software problem, and is not related to my graphics card or my drivers, so I have decided to ask here in the hopes that a fellow Far Cry addict can shed some light on this.
Before I begin, here are two screenshots of the corruption I am getting: -
So far I have tried playing the game using each individual version. Version 1.0 plays absolutely fine with no problems, but every patch after (1.1, 1.3, 1.31, 1.33, 1.4b) all give me the above corruption.
Oddly enough, the corruption only happens when I go anywhere near an opening to the outside landscape, ie. where there is vegetation. If I am inside and not looking at an opening in a wall or a door, the picture is fine.
My CPU is at stock (2.4GHz) and so is my X1800XT 256MB (625/750), I have tried using Catalyst v6.3 and v6.4 but that doesn't seem to make any difference. I have also made sure that my DirectX is fully updated to the April 2006 version, but again it's not helped.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Sincerely yours,
Exsomnis.
