There are laws that punish dog owners for not picking up their dogs turds off the street/footpaths

Why is it okay for horse riders to just keep on riding and not pick up their horse poo ?

Horse poo is just as bad as dog poo, you could argue it's worse due to higher mass, but there's no law to enforce horse owners and their horses from pooing everywhere, why ?

Don't get me wrong I prefer horses to dogs, but poo is poo so if there's a rule for dogs it should apply for all animals that are accompanied with a human no ?

Gets annoying on the coastal bike path trying to dodge all the horse poop and the occasional ******* dog owner who let's their mutt off the leash to run ahead so can't see it ******** on the path

I'd not heard of the coastal bike path, is it close to the path for walkers?

It's a path on the coast for bicycles, with the occasional human walking on foot

Shouldn't matter what make of turd it is, it's nasty and shouldn't be left on a footpath when there's a human around to clean up after their pet, would you be happy to have a horse ******** all over your living room ? why not ? it's only horse poo

Doesn't matter if it doesn't make you blind, it shouldn't be tolerated on paths regardless of which animals anus it came out of

The thread isn't about the toxicity of horse poop vs dog poop, it's about the inequality that one pet owner can let their pet crap wherever they want without recourse while the other can't and it's somehow acceptable to get your bike or shoes covered in horse crap just because it doesn't make you blind.

The only good thing about horse poop is it can kill dogs

But eyes are generally 4 foot+ away from the floor, so unless you horse crap lovers are crawling around on the floor everywhere you go then the argument is a little silly for why 1 type of poop should never be seen on a public path/road vs another

There's very little excuse for horse owners to not clean up their pets mess, especially when its a large mess that they make

I'm not sure outlawing horse poo should be the top topic working its way through Parliament.

Dozens of people being stabbed is complex issue where changing the law isn't going to fix the problem

Making horse owners responsible for cleaning up after their pets on a public path/road is a simple thing to implement, just like the law on dog poo was simple to put in place, I honestly don't see what the problem is with it ? Unless you're all horse owners ?

In MY opinion horse poo on the street is as disgusting as dog poo and should be made unlawful like dog poo

The fact that horse poo isn't toxic doesn't make it any less disgusting to me

I get your point and I see the logic behind it... but, fumes from exhausts will no longer exist in 2040 when all petrol & diesel engines are banned and we switch to electric and fumes, not that fumes are such an issue in the rural area I live though, horse poop is more a problem
