Is that any good for 7/16" tubing? OD is 5/8" but that is 6/8" - would it make much of a difference?

I wouldn't use those compression fittings with the 7/16" ID and 5/8" OD tubing.

Better using standard 1/2" barbs such as these. The 7/16" tubing fits very snugly around them.

+ 1 for 7/16 + 1/2" barbs. Perhaps compression fittings on the PA rad though as they tend to get loose.

Fair enough, I know if I use a kettle I should be able to get them on. I just don't want to use jubilee clips or cable ties around the ends, and I thought these looked neat

Can I change the barbs on this pump?

You need an aftermarket top to be able to change the barbs on it (it's virtually the same pump as the Laing DDC 1-T Pro, and there are a good few aftermarket tops for it).
