Hi all.
Quick question: Roughly, what's the going rate per TB for hosted storage?

We require a hosted (offsite) solution for around 10Tb for our offsite backup.

My original plan was to utilise our Germany office with a NAS and synchronise over night, but this is no longer an option. We do not have another business premises to use as an offsite storage location. So into the "Cloud" we go.

Any advice appreciated.

Well it massively depends what you want really, AWS is competitive for what it is and as long as you're intelligent about your backups (i.e. do differentials to avoid too many transfer charges) it's a good option. Any number of other providers offer similar services but it depends what you want in terms of:

Resiliency - How safe do you want it to be in the cloud?
Location - There are lots of cheap US based providers but you may have legal requirements which prevent you exporting the data to the US
Access method - rsync / scp / other

If you're just using it for backup then why not look at a business account with someone like Livedrive. It works the same way as the personal accounts, continuous protection running in the background.
