Hi Chaps,

Anyone got experience in these? We are looking to jump our new office into the voip world (both as a trial and hopefully new standard).

Ideally we would like it hosted, so no hardware onsite. Video conferencing would also be nice and integration into smart phones (unified communications).

I've been looking at gradwell (no video, yet), sipgate and now I'm back looking at skype business.

Has anyone used any of these companies for business? (Or other that can be recommended?)

Company size is circa 100 with two sites and a few roaming users.

Thanks,

We host our own using Sabio as an escalation point - I'd recommend them as a company if they do hosted. I would not recommend G3, several of our customers have had massive problems with them over the last 3 months in support quality and technical ability.

I wouldn't recommend Gradwell. The quality has been rather disappointing and the uptime isn't good enough... It depends how mission critical it is, but I had an outage for 4 days so I am slowly migrating away....
In fact, I am migrating the company back to ISDN as the quality is so much better.

Be careful, VoIP is great for cheap calls, but not for corporate telephony IMO - Not over the Internet any way, it's fine on a local LAN.

I am actually looking at this now as well. Only have two lines at the moment but a lot of call useage.

Using Skype at the moment but it doesn't have the features I want. I can't transfer between lines etc. Looking around though at other VOIP providers and they are all more expensive than Skype.

We use VOIPfone for our VOIP services at work, not had any problems but I couldnt tell you if it does all the fancy things you want, however their support line is excellent and they will be able to help :)

I wouldn't recommend Gradwell.

We have had problems with systems being down for days at a time.

We switched over to a BT PBX system as it was just not reliable for our business needs.

I have a training course to go on Monday-Wednesday with a exam at the end, I work in a data centre and one of the lines we are offering is BT IPVS.

Should be good :) can't wait to get stuck in after being involved with Swyx VoIP for 6 or so years, Swyx > BT IPVS will be a nice jump

We are a business based internet services company in South Wales, the data centre is on the outskirts of the Welsh Vallies just a short hop from Cardiff. The company offer a wide range of services, they have been operational via two data centre's (THN and one in the Midland's) however beginning of last year we purchased a building which was being used as an Ambulance control centre, the building itself needed work, so that's what been going on for the past year, however we are all moved in, have a few basement suites open with plenty of hosting space which we are selling before we start on the gigantic hall which will also be filled with racks at some stage :).

The hall is huge, can't wait for that to start.

We will be keeping out suite down in London, but the plan is to move everything out of our Midlands co-location.

Sounds cool, I work for a carrier and look after PoPs all over the country but have yet to crack Wales (although we will be building a new fibre link across north Wales to Dublin soon) but our sales manager west to Nextgen in Newport last week. Not looking too good there though as it doesn't seem too carrier neutral.
