Hey Guys,

Was wondering if this is an adequate connection for say 5-6 people.

Im asking because sometimes the pings are about 100+ Could this be settings or is the connection just not good enough?

Cheers

Apparenly because the maps are quite "busy" with lots of random moving psyhics thats the reason.

CSS only supports single core and while hosting one of my cores is maxed out which i think is what is causing the lag.

Any idea how to when hosting get it to use more than one core?

Cheers

Bump.

If having a quad core makes no difference in the "CSS - Hosting" department why do all the servers websites host them on quads?

Cheers

Cheers for the info.

If I was using the source dedicated server and not actually playing in the server do you think the performance would increase?

Cheers

lo again guys,

Basically I was going to test the source dedicated server and its just having non of it. If i host the game through the game "Create Server" they can all join, If i use the dedicated server non of them can connect.

SS below of the ports of forwarded.

Do you know how to create a dedicated server?

For you to join it also it needs to be on another computer.

Try putting sv_lan 0 or sv_lan 1 in the console
this is normally what stops people from joining if it isnt the firewall. You could try and stop the firewall just to see if its the router firewall or anything else

Its pretty simple to create the server using the tools supplied by valve

sv_lan 0 turns it into an internet server, you will get a different error message if this was the issue.

Software firewall / Router Secruity all turned off
