Hi all,

I own the domain name orangepalm.co.uk and used to use catalyst2 as a web host and they hosted my domain. To cut a long story short i had an outstanding balance with them and they closed my account some time ago. I no longer have access to my account and after contacting to try and pay the balance an re open my account they have told me they are unable to do so! I first registerd the domain with 123reg and then transfered it to catalyst2 and changed the name servers to catalyst2.

I am a bit unsure as to how i can regain control of my domain name and get the name servers changed to someone else?

can anyone offer some advice as all this is a bit over my head and don't know where to start.

Thanks in advance

Dave

Do i just sign up to another hosting company and request a transfer? will this change the nameservers?

Thanks

Dave

Looks like it is pointing towards123-reg nameservers, also IPS tag says 123-reg. Is this in your 123-reg account, or the hosts? If it is in the hosts, ask them to do an internal transfer to your account, if they refuse, speak to 123-reg. (Their support can take sometime though, maybe a week!).

Once the domain is in your control, change the nameservers to your new host and all sorted. Good way of speeding up 123-reg is to email them and copy in nominet support, their support time drops from 7 days to 1 generally. As part of the tag holder agreement, registrars have an obligation to make speedy changes to your domain, you may need to remind them of this.

Ooh, I didn't notice that it was still with 123-reg (and therefore not transferred to Catalyst2 since they have their own tag AFAIK).

In that case, all you need to do is to log in to your 123-reg account and update the nameservers to those of your new hosting provider :).

spot on guys thanks for the help :) everything changed and now have control over it again !! :D

Thanks again!
