Hi guys

Im thinking of registering a domain name on my behalf and was just looking for some advice really. Im thinking of setting up a local i.t business to support the local community nothing to fancy just something small for now.

Would like my own email domain hosted as well. A website would be great as well but not to sure where to start.

Would you guys be able to help?

Thanks

I'm assuming you'll only be needing basic features.

Reasonably small amount of disk space, couple of email accounts and a MySQL db or two, with a fairly low volume of traffic and bandwidth required?

If so a small shared hosting package with somebody reputable like TSOHOST is going to be the simplest and most cost effective solution

Hi mate

Thanks for that, like you say just something small a couple of email addresses to start with and then go from there. Very little bandwidth to start with for sure. Not sure if i would need a MySQL db though would i? I have been looking at hosting providers and it does seem that TSOHOST and Vidahost i think they are called seem to be highly thought of.

Still trying to think of a decent domain name to! I was considering just using my name to start with as its available but it doesnt really state what i would would this domain to represent :p

SQL will come with most packages anyway these days. Cpanel makes it so easy to administer from a setting up email accounts. WHT is always a good place to look to see reviews of hosting companies as well as finding discounts.

Register the domain with Gandi, host with them or Media Temple if you need a bit more grunt. Use Office 365 Business Premium for email and get the office suite with it as well, £7.80 a month plus VAT per user.
